Gelato Cake
Episode One
Ingredients- Sponge cake, Maraschino bagny, Gianduia gelato, Crema Italiana gelato, Caramel Farcitutto.
Method:
Cut the sponge cake and place it in the moulds, soak in some syrup previously diluted in water , place the moulds in the freezer, add the first layer of gelato, leaving the central part hollow and cool in the freezer .
Fill with the crema Italiana gelato, smooth the surface using a palate knife , put them back in the freezer .After the necessary time period has elapsed , remove the cake , pour the filling and spread using a palate knife .
Warm the tips of the moulds using a kitchen blow torch .
Remove the cake and place it on a cake base , prepare some Italian meringue and place it in a piping bag .
Use the meringue to create tufts on the outer edge of the cake .
Place a sugar decoration on the surface finish off with a flower carved from a strawberry.
Repeat on the other desserts , use the same method for the other flavour combinations too.
